Have fun serving God while in fellowship with Church friends!

Overnight or One-Day Mission Trip for Youth (going into 6th grade through graduating seniors).  Do you love campfires and smores or just want to put your hands and heart to good use for your neighbors?

The Presbyterian Church of Washington is hosting a Youth Mission Trip to Bethels Hills in Dutzow Missouri.  Your youth group is invited to join us for a single day of service on Saturday, June 3rd, or an overnight trip Friday afternoon, June 2nd until Saturday afternoon.  You can send one or as many youths as you like, all are welcome.  If you are sending a large group of youth, your Presbyterian Church is expected to provide chaperones. (Shareable flyer found here)

All costs are being covered by the Presbyterian Church of Washington and the Giddings-Lovejoy Presbytery.  There are no costs to the participants except transportation to and from the facility.

Bethel Hills is an inclusive community where people of all abilities thrive together, are connected, and have abundant opportunities.  They are developing Phase 1 of 3 phases that will eventually house 70-80 residents.  Currently, they house approximately 15 residents.  Bethel Hills is located at 10450 Voelkerding Rd, Dutzow, MO.

For this Mission Trip will be working on housing, gardening, and facility projects on their 127 acres of beautiful land. There is always lots of cleaning to be done as well.  There is a job for everyone regardless of physical ability or skill level.  Everyone is welcome.  One-day-only volunteers are welcome on both Friday and Saturday.  Friday registration check-in is at 1:00 pm for a half-day of work.  Saturday registration and check-in are at 9:00 am for a full day of work.  Once again, youth are welcome to make this a fun overnight experience with a campfire worship service and activities on Friday evening.

To work, please wear appropriate work clothing for the weather that day.  Work gloves are also recommended, although not required.  A few items will be available on-site.

On Friday evening, for those staying overnight, participants will then be joined by the staff and residents of Bethel Hills for dinner.  You will get to meet some of the residents that we are working for and hear the faith journey that has created Bethel Hills.

After dinner, we will have a campfire worship service complete with guitars and singing that everyone will enjoy.  Weather permitting.  Otherwise, it will be in the gymnasium.

Youth and vetted chaperons can spend the night, which will include an evening of energetic activities and games in the gymnasium. Girls will be staying in the hostel section of the event center and the boys will be staying in the locker room section of the gymnasium.  Sleeping bags will be required for everyone.

Saturday morning will start off with a hearty breakfast for those spending the night.  Anyone joining us on Saturday will arrive at 9:00 am.  Service projects will be from 9:30-11:30 am.  Luncheon and worship service will be provided at noon.  Afternoon service projects will be from 1-4:00 pm.  With goodbyes and departure before 5:00 pm.

Registration is extended to May 12, 2023.  Please submit your forms as soon as possible to facilitate developing work groups, food preparation, and gift bags. Youth Registration HereAdult Registration Here
