Mission + Ministry
For over 200 years, Presbyterian Women have played a fundamental role in the mission and ministry of the Presbyterian Church (USA).
We are an independent organization with the PC (USA) of more than 300,000 women.
As Presbyterian Women (PW), we strive to live out the Presbyterian Women’s Purpose, which is as follows: Forgive and freed by God, in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to nurture our faith through prayer and Bible Study, to support the mission of the church worldwide, to work for peace and justice, and to build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the PC(USA) and witnesses to the promise of God’s kingdom.
We invite your participation. If you have any questions, please contact any member of the Coordinating Team.
Penny St. James,
Greetings to all!
I would like to thank God for the opportunity to be the Moderator for PW of Giddings Lovejoy. I am truly honored to be entrusted by the coordinating team and very excited to be working with such a wonderful group of dedicated women.
Going forward we will continue to be transparent with our coordinating team meetings and welcome your participation via ZOOM or conference call. Information on these meetings can be found here on our webpage and in the weekly Presbytery newsletter.
As we continue to support the PW purpose, we are grateful to receive God’s word, nurture our faith, support worldwide mission and outreach, labor for justice and peace and continue to build an inclusive, loving community by praying for the world’s needs.
We are excited about partnering with national to support the Presbyterian Women’s Churchwide Gathering which is still on schedule to be held in St. Louis in August. We will need A LOT of volunteers to make this a successful event. I know the women of Giddings Lovejoy will roll out the red carpet and show them what hospitality is all about!
While we continue to live life through this pandemic, we must remember that we should not be living in fear, but living through faith. The world around us is constantly is changing, but God never changes and is always with us.
Penny St. James, Moderator
