Introducing…

the Global Partnerships Ministry Team

Global Partnerships Ministry Team is the steward of the Presbytery’s commitments to international partnerships which foster long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with mission partners and the people of the country. In a time of the increased connectedness of global issues and increased isolation of countries due to rising nationalism, such partnerships are critical in establishing and supporting efforts to address interrelated national and global concerns, including visions for caring for Earth and all that is in it.
Specifically, the Presbytery has two established partnerships:

Joining Hands Peru Partnership

Joining Hands Peru Partnership.  Joining Hands is a program of the Presbyterian Hunger Program which pairs our Presbytery with the Joining Hands Network of Peru.  We work with churches and non-governmental organizations across Peru, the United States, and the world to address systemic and root causes of hunger and poverty. Together, we engage in study, prayer, and worship; and networking, accompaniment, and advocacy.  When possible, person-to-person visits to the United States or to Peru help us experience issues first-hand and to meet with and support partners.

Nicaraguan Community Partnership
Plan Grande #2

Nicaraguan Community Partnership (NCP) with Plan Grande #2, a community in northern Nicaragua.  CEPAD, a Nicaraguan ecumenical agency, assists in coordination. NCP and Plan Grande #2 have partnered for more than 20 years to learn and develop programs and relationships that express the love of Christ.  NCP organizes annual trips, when possible, to further the relationships and to help with community-led projects.  NCP also raises funds from individuals and congregations to provide scholarships to the local high school and college students in Nicaragua.

Global Partnerships also works with local congregations in the Presbytery as they develop their own international mission partnerships.  We encourage members of the Presbytery to give of their time, gifts, and financials resources for global mission within the Presbyterian Church (USA).
